Cirrus Cloud Protect launches globally to offer simple SaaS data protection for cloud environments

11 May 2023

Global Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) company, CT4, have announced the launch of its new data protection solution, Cirrus Cloud Protect. Built on Veeam Software, a leading provider of backup, recovery and data management solutions, Cirrus Cloud Protect automates backup of cloud data and makes it available for rapid restore.

Microsoft Azure is the first cloud platform Cirrus Cloud Protect will support, with plans to extend its coverage to additional cloud environments in the near future.

The simple to deploy SaaS backup and recovery solution was developed to meet the needs of businesses who typically have constrained IT resources.

Cirrus Cloud Protect can be implemented in minutes and features advanced capabilities including hourly native snapshots to achieve low RPOs and instance-, volume- and file-level restores, as well as alerting on the backup and recovery processes statuses. Cirrus Cloud Protect automates backups and makes recovery seamless, improving organisational efficiency.

Martyn Howie, Cirrus’ Product Director, states “we have seen that companies of all sizes find backup complicated and risk intensive and many smaller companies are often not able to implement enterprise-grade solutions.

“Today, we are thrilled to announce the launch of Cirrus Cloud Protect, a SaaS tool designed to give companies of all sizes the power to protect their data with ease.

Martyn added that “with access to automation and our proactive support, companies will be able to assure compliance while saving time and money on backup processes.”

Cirrus Cloud Protect leverages the same analytic backbone as Cirrus’ flagship solution, Cirrus for Microsoft 365. All it takes is connecting Azure to Cirrus Cloud Protect and setting backup policies to increase business efficiencies and lower backup risk. The solution is also cost-effective, with modular components that allow businesses to only pay for what they need, with the ability to add on as they grow.

Cirrus Cloud Protect is available direct through the Cirrus website, via channel partners or through the Microsoft Azure Commercial Marketplace, an online store providing solutions tested to work seamlessly with Azure.

CT4 Chief Technology Officer, Dan Pearson said “our customers can sign up directly from their Microsoft account via the Azure Marketplace and manage their subscription via the Azure portal, simplifying the procurement process.

“By purchasing via Microsoft, users are able to pay for their Cirrus Cloud Protect subscription through an existing Microsoft agreement such as an Enterprise Agreement, even drawing down on their Microsoft Azure Consumption Commitment (MACC).

“Meanwhile for Cirrus and Microsoft CSP partners, it means customers can get started with Cirrus more easily,” he said.
